The West India Docks, opened in 1802, were a series of docks and warehouses built to accommodate trade between England and the British West Indies. Several small row-boats with passengers are seen rowing along the canals. Expertly designed and engraved by renowned caricaturist Thomas Rowlandson and Auguste Pugin, a draughtsman and artist. This engraving appeared in "Microcosm of London", published 1808-1810. Aquatint by John Bluck. In very good condition. (Inventory #: 312278)
