The book was translated and edited by F Hopfengärtner and J H Autenrieth who has added an appendix on the cause of the illness. Autenrieth had spent several months in Philadelphia and his notes and appended essay on the probable cause of the epidemic are a valuable contemporary account of medicine in post-colonial America. An important translation and edition. See G - M #5453; see Norman II, #1862 citing the Philadelphia printing. (Inventory #: 23043)
