UNPROFESSIONAL TALES. By "Normyx."
1901 · London
by [ Douglas, Norman, and Elsa FitzGibbon]
London: T. Fisher Unwin, 1901. White cloth, with pictorial upper panel and decorations. Binding rubbed, spine darkened and dull, some soiling to cloth, several leaves roughly opened, with marginal loss; an average copy of a book difficult to find in agreeable condition. First edition of Douglas's pseudonymously published sixth book, but first work of fiction, much of it written in collaboration with his wife. The edition is reported to have consisted of only seven hundred and fifty copies. It was a commercial failure, and it has been speculated that a portion of the edition was pulped. WOOLF A6.
