Chicago: Executive Committee of the Protective Agency for Women and Children, 1890. Very good.. [4]pp., on a single folded sheet. Central horizontal fold, minor edge wear and toning, short closed tear to top edge of first leaf. A seemingly unrecorded ephemeral circular issued by the Executive Committee of the Protective Agency for Women and Children in Chicago. The organization published the circular to suggest protections for women relating to various employment and housing issues, including wage rates and forfeitures, chattel mortgages, employment contract issues, proper notice for leaving an employer or a boarding house, and so forth. The assorted suggestions seem to relate almost exclusively to domestic servants who, among other notions, are encouraged to "take what is offered" by employers even if they pay "a less sum than [the servant] thinks is due." No copies located in OCLC or auction records. (Inventory #: 5268)
