First Edition Thus; The Illustrated and Definitive Edition 1920, published by the author. A Near Fine book in an Original Very Good dust jacket. SIGNED and inscribed by the author to the wealthy American Poet and Publisher Scofield Thayer, publisher of the Dial Literary Magazine in the early part of the 20th Century (Thayer's bookplate laid in). A scarce presentation copy of this novel about the 1886 Haymarket bombing in Chicago, rare indeed in the original dust jacket. This book is in near fine condition showing some minor soiling to the front board and mild age-toning and foxing to the text block and page edges; housed in a completely intact very good dust jacket that shows minor rubbing and chipping to the spine ends, edges, and corners, a couple of short tears to the edges, mild fading to the spine, and some light soiling and rubbing to the panels. Overall, a highly collectible copy of a book rarely found in the original jacket, with the added benefit of the inscription. In a protective Mylar cover and will ship carefully wrapped in a sturdy box.
