First edition, 8vo, pp. [2], xxvii, [1], 305, [3] ads; original drab paper-covered boards, printed paper label on spine; label rubbed, but legible, corners bumped, spine with several cracks and small chips but on the whole a good, sound, and clean copy, or better. Lincoln Library bookplate noting the date of accession as 21 December, 1827. Laurence (1757-1809) was "an English jurist and man of letters, a close associate of Edmund Burke whose literary executor he became" (Wikipedia). He helped prepare Burke's impeachment case against Warren Hastings. These letters to Burke were published and edited by his brother eighteen years after his death. Todd 78.
