First Edition, limited issue, being #135 of 199 copies signed by Cather, printed on Shidzuoka Japan vellum and bound in orange vellum -- of her historical novel sited in Quebec. (There was also a 619-copy signed issue on handmade paper, plus the trade issue.) With this copy, the limitation leaf and the foot of the dust jacket's spine bear the inked number 135 (some copies of this vellum limited issue are seen in green paperboard boxes, but this copy does not have one). The volume is in fine condition, still with its intact red silk ribbon; the jacket is very good (spine tanned as usual, French-fold panels a bit rumpled as is often the case). Crane A17.a.1.
