by KIESLING, BARRETT C
Los Angeles and Atlanta: MGM & Johnson Publishing, 1935 & 1937. First Editions. The first item, ‘How Talkies are Made’ is an original 90 page mimeographed early working draft done at Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer studios by Barrett C. Kiesling prior to his book, ‘Talking Pictures- How They Are Made - How to Appreciate Them.’ This is bradbound in a stiff black binder and is in fine condition. Included is the book Talking Pictures- How They Are Made - How to Appreciate Them’ which was published two years later and is filled out with additional material, creating a classic study of the Hollywood studio system during the 1930s, illustrated throughout with black & white photographs from the MGM studios. Very good plus lightly used copy with some minor edge wear without dust jacket. (Inventory #: 17408E)
