by NASH, After Joseph (1809-78)
London: Thomas McLean, 1848. Chromolithograph, finished by hand and mounted on card mount with ink-ruled border. Signed by artist in ink under lower left corner of image. Very good condition apart from some mild rippling and overall light soiling on mount. A fine image of the interior of Windsor Castle, recording the banquet given on the occasion when Louis Philippe, King of France, was awarded the Order of the Garter by Queen Victoria. This high quality plate, mounted in imitation of a watercolour, is from Joseph Nash's Views of the Interior and Exterior of Windsor Castle, published in London in 1848. Abbey, Scenery, 360, plate 10.
