by DISALLE, MICHAEL V. WITH LAWRENCE G. BLOCHMAN (AGNEW, SPIRO T.)
New York: Hawthorn Books, 1967. Third printing. Paperbound. Signed and inscribed by the author Michael V. DiSalle to former Vice President under Richard M. Nixon from 1969 - 1973, Spiro T. Agnew. Inscribed: “To Vice-President Spiro T. Agnew with all best wishes. Sincerely, Michael V. DiSalle, Feb. 10, 1968.” At the time of this inscription, Agnew was the Governor of Maryland. Very good copy with some slight signs of use and a hint of fading to the spine. A comprehensive history of the United States Vice-Presidency, and the ‘second choices’ who went on to become President, from the first meeting of the electoral college to the accession of Lyndon Baines Johnson. Spiro T. Agnew (1918 - 1996) is the only Vice President in U.S. history pressured to resign because of criminal charges in the scandalous aftermath of the Watergate investigations and demise of the Nixon administration.
