Contemporary mottled calf, skillfully rebacked, with original gilt-stamped backstrip laid-down; all edges stained yellow. Contemporary ink ownership on title-page. Light foxing throughout (though heavier on the opening leaves), mostly in margins; negligible edgewear to a few leaves; back free endpaper is detached. An attractive and sound copy; very good plus. According to an advertisement for the work on p. 2, it is an abridgement of Lempriere's dictionary, as well as articles found in biographical works of Jones, Watkins, Allen &c., plus a few original entries.
