Various places, 1744. 1 vols. 8vo. The five pieces bound together in contemporary mottled calf, spine gilt, red morocco label. Some rubbing, some light discoloration, but generally a very good copy. 1 vols. 8vo. Parthenogenesis, Virginal Births and Plays. The Hill piece relates to parthenogenesis in humans and animals and is a translation of "Lucina sine Concubitu. A Letter...to the Royal Society in which is proved...that a woman may conceive and be brought to bed, without any commerce with man."
The Roe piece is addressed to Abraham Johnson [Sir John Hill] on this scheme for propagating humans. This piece was probably translated by Anne Gabriel Meusnier de Querlon or possibly De Combes, the secretary of M. de Mirepoix.
