Full mottled calf, gilt extra, t.e.g., by Riviere, fore and bottom edges untrimmed, bound without wrappers. Boards detached (as is often the case with this particular acidic leather utilized by Riviere for a time), chip at toe of one spine, some scattered foxing, spotting and light tanning, but internally a very good, untrimmed set. First editions of the four numbers, bound up with the contents leaves for the volumes and those for the separate numbers (except for that for #2) and ads. The errata in the first number is four lines, rather than six (Randolph's variant 1), the contents leaf for the third number bears the errata at the bottom, and the errata for the second number is in Randolph's variant two. A short-lived but significant enterprise, undertaken by Hunt, Byron and Shelley, featuring their own work, as well as contributions by Mary Shelley, Hogg, Hazlitt, et al. BREWER 110-113.
