Baltimore: Joseph Robinson. 1836., 1836. 12mo, two volumes, original brown cloth blind stamped with a floral pattern, paper labels affixed to spine panels. First edition. Presentation inscription "from her friend the authoress" to Mrs. Susan Holmes, dated May 16, 1868. The author also wrote THE POLISH ORPHAN; OR, VICISSITUDES: A TALE (1838) and THE HAUNTING SHADOW (1848). She died in 1887. Wright (I) 1919. Missing first leaf of text (pages 9/10) from volume one, cloth worn at spine ends, spines darkened, paper labels darkened and rubbed but lettering is legible, a very good set overall.
