[26], 444, [50] (vol.1); [20], 582, [52] (vol.2). 3/4 leather over green marbled paper covered boards, with gold lettering and decoration on spine. Colored endpapers. Red and black lettering on title-page of first volume, with engraved vignette. Decorative initials, head-, and tailpieces. This fascinating Mariology covers not only the expected fathers of the Church but also, separately indexed, the so-called Heretical writers including Calvin, Martin Luther, Erasmus and the Medical authority Paracelsus. Age wear and abrasions on bindings with some rubbing on covers and spines. Corners rubbed and worn. Most of backstrip on second volume detached, but present. Foxing throughout, with minor damp staining on few pages of first volume. Some chipping on title-page of vol. 1. Text in Latin. Binding in overall poor (vol. 2) to good (vol.1), interior in good+ condition.
