Browning to pages due to age, otherwise is in good condition. Text in Hebrew. The author, Salomon Buber (1827 - 1906) was a Jewish Galician scholar and editor of Hebrew works. He is especially remembered for his editions of Midrash and other medieval Jewish manuscripts, and for the pioneering of critical research of Judaic texts. He adopted a certain system to which he consistently adhered. When analyzing a the text, he would procure all accessible manuscripts and printed works, sparing no expense to obtain the rarest copies. He conscientiously recorded the various readings in footnotes, and he bestowed special care on the correction and explanation of words in the text borrowed from Greek or Latin. (Inventory #: 20339)
