Oblong quarto (16 x 24 cm). Original maroon cloth, gilt design on upper cover, binding slightly rubbed, slight staining, but a very good copy. Complete with 51 oval shaped, albumen photographs (each 3 by 2.5 cm) mounted on 39pps. Each portrait with biographical note. The photographer Antoine Rene Trinquart (31, place Cadet, Paris) worked 1859-1962 with Pierre Petit (23, rue Louis Legrand, Paris), under the sign "La photographie des deux mondes."
