First edition, variant state with "* " pressmark on p. 74 and flower garland at the bottom of p. 75. The epilogue was written by Mrs. Piozzi and spoken by Mrs. Siddons. Greathead was one of the Della Cruscans and as a member was known as Gifford the Reuben.
