Vintage SNAP Card Game

NP, ca. late 19th century. vg. 37 cards resting in original sturdy cardboard box with pasted-down color illustration, as issued. "British Manufacture - Made in England" in black lettering on box cover. Each set of 3 cards illustrated with color reproduction of caricatures (artist unknown) of various trades people. Verso of cards with decorative pattern. The back of early sets were plain, later decorative patterns were added to hide marks such as finger smudges and over use. Snap has been a popular card game for over 150 years. The goal in the game is to 'lose' all the cards. Box with some age wear, cards in very good condition. Scarce. (Inventory #: 26250)
