Small stamp of previous owner on front free endpaper. A well-respected work in the field of plastic surgery. Listed in G-M 5744. Text is in German. Dr. von Ammon (1799-1861) was actually an ophthalmologist, but he contributed greatly to the field of plastic surgery, especially in the areas about the lips and eyes. According to G-M 5852, his color-plate atlas was the best summary of the knowledge of diseases of the eye prior to the introduction of the ophthalmoscope. 310pp.. First Edition.
