Los Angeles: 7 5/8” x 10”, 1920s. A striking photograph of the handsome silent film star Monroe Salisbury signed and inscribed by him: “For my friend Miss Malitta Wunderlick, In all sincerity, Monroe Salisbury.” Fine. In the photo Mr. Salisbury is wearing a formal suit with a ruffled shirt and bow tie. Monroe Salisbury (1876 - 1935) was a Broadway, movie star and matinee idol. He was in 42 silent movies between 1914 and 1922, working frequently with director Cecil B. DeMille, later appearing in several westerns and two talkies. (Inventory #: 19757E)
