He held fairly orthodox views, and in the present work, which was first published in 1710 under a slightly different title, he attacked atheism and irreligion. He also seems to have taken a few shots at the Quakers too. This copy includes an 18 page list of subscribers, which features the names of many prominent American clergymen from the period. ODB.
