A descriptive piece laid in sums up the history of the regiment: "The whole history of the 104th Regiment of Foot, the New Brunswick Regiment, falls between 1803 and 1817. It was the regiment that made the famous march in the depths of winter in 1813 from Fredericton through the snowbound forest regions to Quebec (more than 700 miles in 52 days) and on byu a a more travelled road to Kingston and Niagara.
