A Gentleman of Paris
1927 · London
by HORNIMAN, ROY
London: Readers Library, 1927. Photoplay edition issued to coincide with the British release of the silent film starring Adolph Menjou, Shirley O’Hara, and Arlette Marchal. Lightly used copy with some edge wear and three 1/2” tears to the cloth at the spine hinges - two on the bottom and one at the top rear, in a lightly dust soiled dust jacket with some tearing and creasing and a 3/4” piece at the bottom of the spine. A society comedy-drama in which the ever dapper Menjou, a Parisian noble, tries to give up his high-living ways and get married. The dust jacket shows a colorful wraparound painting of Menjou at a card table being exposed with an ace up his sleeve while a group of shocked people look on. (Inventory #: 14593E)
