1858 · [New York
by Coast Survey
[New York, 1858. 15pp. Disbound, original printed self-wrappers with wrapper title [as issued]. Very Good. The anonymous author denounces "that large and rapidly increasing class which seeks, in the ease of public service, to avoid the diligence demanded by private employment, and in all its opportunities, the chance to grow 'fat upon the drippings of unclean legislation.'" All such scum have gathered at the feet of the Superintendent of the Coast Survey. The outraged author provides data demonstrating the profligacy of expenditures. FIRST EDITION. 113 NUC 0499153 [3].
