An appeal for the votes of the troops, "the working hands by which the nation's honor and manhood have been vindicated," in the upcoming presidential election. "Through four years of dread war, in bright and dark days, you have carried the Union in your hearts and on your bayonets." Opposing the Democrat-Copperhead platform as treasonous, this pamphlet exhorts, "If ever there was a time when Union bayonets were called on to think, it is now. The crisis of the war, when our armies have the rebellion in their grasp and are preparing to deal its death-blow, finds the country precipitated into the turmoil of a Presidential election." FIRST EDITION. Sabin 24237. (Inventory #: 11025)
