A hard-luck story for the Stillman family, which lost a daughter in 1787 and a son in January "Both of them died of an hectical complaint." When Thacher spoke, "another amiable Daughter of the family labored under complaints" and another son "was absent at Sea, and apprehensions were entertained for his safety; and one of his Sons-in-Law lay dangerously sick."
