TO THE ELECTORS OF MIDDLESEX DISTRICT. FELLOW CITIZENS..
1824 · [Boston?
by [Massachusetts]
[Boston?, 1824. Caption title [as issued], bound in modern plain wrappers. 16pp, scattered foxing, a bit of dustsoil. Good+. A bipartisan recommendation of Edward Everett for Congress by the Middlesex Convention of Independent Voters, convened at Lexington in October 1824, just before the elections. The 1824 presidential election was a four-man donnybrook. Everett's hopes became entangled with its bitter feuds. The Convention dispels the rumor that Everett's candidacy is "a plot of the Essex Junto and the Crawfordites." Everett is emphatically not opposed to John Quincy Adams; nor is he a stalking-horse for Crawford of Georgia. FIRST EDITION. AI 17155 [1]. Sabin 101346. Not in Decker, Eberstadt. (Inventory #: 13144)
