Reverend Murray was, according to DAB, the "founder of Universalism in America" and an exceedingly controversial figure, Ezra Stiles having considered him a Romanist in disguise. Here he tells his audience that, "Every man comes into this world on a mission from God." Murray's sermon provides a biography of Prince who, as the result of two accidents, wholly "lost his sight at 14 years of age," yet whose accomplishments and energy were prodigious. Murray refers to, and the Appendix discusses, the Journal that Prince kept, "a diary of his labors."
