William Henry Thomes was an author who spent much of his early adult years travelling between California and Boston. He eventually settled in Boston and worked for several years as a reporter for the 'Boston Herald'. In his later years he was a member of the Elliott, Thomes and Talbot & Thomes & Talbot. Though Thomes novels never achieved literary or historical importance, partial sales figures reach over half a million copies sold in 1895. (DAB) (Inventory #: 18622)
