First edition of Aiken's autobiography, a work many regard as his most significant prosework. An inscribed presentation copy from Aiken to the daughter and son-in-law of his friends, Allen Tate and Caroline Gordon: "For Percy and Nancy from Conrad with all the polymorphouses [sic] 1957."
