1 page, 5 1/8” x 7 1/2”, 1931. Original autograph letter signed from novelist and screenwriter Jim Tully. The letter reads: “To Clem Yore, In memory of the far-off days. Jim Tully, 1931.” Creases from folding and a few faint spots to the verso, near fine. Jim Tully (1886 - 1947) was an American writer who began his career as a free-lance Hollywood reporter, covering noted celebrites of his day, including Charles Chaplin, before turning his sights toward literature with distinctive and, for its time, very darkly dramatic themes which some believe ushered in the hard boiled genre. Some of his novels include ‘Beggars of Life’ (1924) which was later adapted into film, Shadows of Men (1930), Blood on the Moon (1931), Laughter in Hell (1932), The Bruiser (1936), A Dozen and One (1943), etc. (Inventory #: 18465E)
