Ely on front pastedowns (some offsetting) with gift inscription dated 1897 on front free endpapers; both title pages starting to loosen, else interior about fine. A nice set with hinges still intact. English translation of Fram over polhavet, den norske polarfaerd 1893-96, the narrative based on Nansen's investigation of the polar basin north of Eurasia by drifting in the ice currents from the New Siberian Islands northwest toward the Pole; "every detail...was worked out by Nansen himself and went absolutely according to plan" (PMM 384).
