London: Chapman & Hall, 1884. Two volumes. Cloth. Neat bookplates, hinges cracking, short tear in one endsheet, extremities shelf-rubbed, but a good set. First edition, preceding the American one volume edition by a couple of weeks. On each half-title, possibly in the hand of the dedicatee, appears the inscription: "Sybil Milnes, from Uncle Sam.
