Spine covering chipped away (as often), wrappers slightly bowed, overlap edges chipped, internally very good and clean. First edition of this elaborate production, designed and illustrated by Craig, with attending texts by Christopher St. John, J.A. Fuller Maitland, and W. Barclay Squire. Craig served as Stage Director, and Shaw as Musical Director, for this production under the auspices of The Purcell Operatic Society. This is the variant with the endleaves affixed to the wrappers, and the wrappers with substantially more extended overlaps at the fore-edge, and rough trimmed edges at the top edge.
