American born silver designer and artist best known for his influence on 20th century Mexican silver design. After the Mexican Revolution Spratling decided to reestablish a silver industry in Taxco in 1931. Profusely illustrated exhibition catalog with full page b/w photographs of silver ware, jewelry, utensils, silver service pieces, and decorative objects. The exhibition at the Centro Cultural Museum was the first in recent memory to honor a foreigner for his contributions to Mexican culture. Text in Spanish.
