Diary of an Ennuyee
Hardcover

by Jameson, Mrs. [Anna]
Boston: Ticknor and Fields, 1858. Hardcover. G (Binding has some edge and corner wear; hinges are slightly loose, some tanning appears on pages near the ends of the volume, as well as the title page; interior surfaces are generally clear and text is quite readable.). Blue stamped cloth, gilt letters on spine, gilt edges all around, 341 pp., one BW illus. as frontispiece. A nifty little tome that fits well in the hand. The text is the so-called "diary" of a young woman in ill health in the early 1800s, who makes her way across Europe for the last time. Alas, it's all fiction, created by British authoress Anna Brownell Jameson (1794-1860). And didn't the 19th-century readers growse when they learned the truth! (Inventory #: 141469)
