A 37 page specially hardbound transcription of a tape-recorded interview with Lubin, conducted in Mr. Lubin’s home in Los Angeles on July 15, 1985, by Ronald L. Davis. Near fine copy bound in blue cloth with gilt-stamping to the spine without dust jacket as issued. Arthur Lubin began his career in motion pictures in the 1920s as an actor, appearing in The Woman on the Jury, His People, Bardelys the Magnificent, Times Square, Eyes of the Underworld, etc. His directorial credits include several of the “Francis, the Talking Mule” episodes, the entire “Mr. Ed” television series (which he also produced), Ali Baba and the 40 Thieves, The Spider Woman Strikes Back, The Incredible Mr. Limpet with Don Knotts, etc. His most ambitious and creatively successful film was the 1943 version of Phantom of the Opera with Claude Rains.
