Randolph Scott is best known for his film work in the Western genre, appearing in such classics as The Virginian, The Last Round-Up, The Desperadoes, The Nevadan, The Cariboo Trail, Ride the High Country, etc. He became one of the top box-office stars of the 1950s and, in the Westerns of Budd Boetticher especially, a critically important figure in the Western as an art form.
