Publisher's black calf, the boards decorated with an elaborate central device of a flower festooned semi-gothic architectural frame, within successive borders of gilt rules, spine elaborately gilt decorated, a.e.g. Frontis, engraved title and four plates by O. Felton. Extremities a bit rubbed, plates foxed, otherwise very good. A variant imprint -- perhaps a reissue -- of the 1849 annual produced in Boston by Phillips & Sampson.
