An original script for this play written by MacLeish for presentation in cooperation with the National Park Service at Independence Hall, in Philadelphia, beginning in 1962. It was produced by T. Edward Hambleton, of the New York Phoenix Theatre, and featured music and songs by David Amram. The play was included in the American Heritage publication, LET FREEDOM RING: THE STORY OF INDEPENDENCE HALL AND ITS ROLE IN THE FOUNDING OF THE UNITED STATE (1962).
