1949. 1TLS measuring 8" x 10 1/2", on the letterhead of the Secretary of the Department of the Interior. The letter is signed by Krug using his nickname "Cap". He is acknowledging Davies resigning as Special Consultant to the Secretart. Earlier Davies had been the "point man" for oil allocation in World War II. He had left his position as Vice-President of Standard Oil to accept President Truman's appointment as Deputy for the Petroleum Administration which extended from the end of the war to negotiating the international oil agreements at the beginning of the Cold War.
