A HISTORY OF THE LIFE AND PUBLIC SERVICES OF MAJOR GENERAL ANDREW JACKSON. IMPARTIALLY COMPILED FROM THE MOST AUTHENTIC SOURCE
1828 · [N.p.]
by [Jackson, Andrew
[N.p.], 1828. 32pp. Dbd. Old stabholes, contemporary gift inscription on titlepage, minor foxing and tanning throughout. Good plus. A rare variant printing of an 1828 campaign attack on "Old Hickory," not matching any of the three paginations in Sabin nor any of the entries in AMERICAN IMPRINTS. It is not a very flattering biography, to say the least. The text concludes with Jefferson's famous line, "one might as well make a sailor of a cock, or a soldier of a goose, as a president of Andrew Jackson." SABIN 35366 (different pagination). AMERICAN IMPRINTS 33564 (same pagination, but with "IMPARTIALLY" in the title). (Inventory #: WRCAM48934)
