Ownership signature on front flyleaf. Foxing and toning, scattered dampstaining. About good. Later edition, after the first of 1847. A first-hand account of campaigns on the border against Comanches and major battles of the Mexican-American War, such as Monterrey and Buena Vista. Reid resigned his commission with the 5th Louisiana Volunteers in order to enlist with the Texas Rangers. The work includes a list of those wounded or killed in the Battle of Monterrey.
