Typed transcripts of interviews of American artist George Elmer Browne (1871-1946) by fellow artist DeWitt McClellan Lockman (1870-1957). Their conversations were dated March 7, 1926; June 9-13, 1926; June 24, 1926'; and sometime in 1927. Also includes three leaves of newspaper citations or texts about Browne, too. Lockman conducted and documented interviews with 86 artists and architects associated with the National Academy of Design. The interview texts are contained on microfilm held by the Archives of American Art, Smithsonian Institution. A unique offering.
