Henderson, 8 color plates each with three images of Mexican costumes, double page map, [8] pages of music. One of the most influential books on an ethnographic and political study of Mexico. Leonidas Hamilton's work in 1884 borrowed heavily upon it since it was the first to provide so much information on Mexico in preparation for the trade with the US after the introduction of the railroads. Booksellers label of Henry Sotheran of York. Handsomely bound in 3/4 deep maroon morocco over marbled paper covered boards, flat spine with lettering gilt, original paper wraps bound in. A very good copy.
