Boston: The Walpole Society, 1929. Special Edition of 100 Copies. Hardcover. VG+, ex-library with spine stickers, bar codes, and bookplates. Otherwise clean, bright and tight contents with no marks to text. Cover edges a bit rubbed. Cloth at head of spine is fraying and split and lower corners are bumped (1929); most of the fore edge cloth of the spine is split, but binding still secure, and head/tail of spine bumped (1932).. 2 vols. Decorative speckled paper/boards with gilt lettering on black cloth spines. No dust jackets. xviii + 325 pp. with 42 bw plates; and xiv + 334 pp. with 28 bw plates, respectively. 8vo. A two-volume set. Series Two was published in 1932. Both volumes are special editions limited to 100 copies each, printed for the Walpole Society on Bruce Rogers All Rag Paper at The Wayside Press in Topsfield, Massachusetts. Both volumes seem to cover every fine and decorative art maker and business of the time. The exception is textiles. The only kind of textile listed is upholstery, with only one woman (Ann King) among the business people advertised. Very thorough and an excellent reference.
