The comic misadventures of miserly Lester Carmody, master of Rudge Hall, and his nephews Hugo (who wants the old man to bankroll his nightclub venture) and John (a decent but backboneless young chap). Also involved is a "health farm" called Healthward Ho, run by a trio of con artists who at one point inveigle Hugo into an insurance-fraud scheme involving the Carmody family heirlooms. .
