London: Robert Hale Limited, n.d. [1949]. Possible First Edition. Very good+ in mottled, red-orange cloth covered boards with bold gilt text stamping on the spine. A 12mo measuring 7 1/4" by 4 3/4" with a prior owner's book plate on the front paste down (see below) and spots of light foxing to the edges of the text block. In a very good, unclipped dust jacket with a 1/2" deep by 3/4" wide chip from the upper rear corner of the spine area, a1/2" closed tear with related creasing at the upper edge of the front panel over the gutter of the book and small chips from the corners of the panels at the folds to the flaps. 222 pages of text. The prior owner's book plate noted above reads: "From the Library | of | J. B. Priestley" the English novelist, playwright, scriptwriter and news commentator.
