Catalogue of the Rare Astronomical Books in the San Diego State University Library.
1988. · San Diego:
by Kenney, Louis A.
4to cloth, with slipcase, illustrated, 335 pp. Spine somewhat faded, contents crisp and bright; very good plus to near fine. The San Diego library of rare books on astronomy began with the collection of Dr. Ernst Zinner, which the university purchased in 1967. While the Zinner collection exceeded over 5000 items, the university added to their library over the next couple of decades. In his introduction to the collection Owen Gingerich points out that in addition to classics by Copernicus, Galileo, and Kepler the library also includes Tycho Brahe's illustrated Mechanica, Flamsteed's Atlas Corlestis and Burges' A Short Account of the Solar System.
